Volcane Spins
Volcane Spins is one of those games that looks simple in a screenshot and then eats your whole commute. You control a set of rotating rings layered over a volcano-themed tunnel, and your job is to spin them so falling orbs slot through the gaps without touching the hot edges. Miss the timing and the run resets, which sounds harsh but keeps every attempt tight and quick.
Control is all one-thumb: tap left or right side of the screen to rotate, hold to keep spinning. It took me maybe three rounds to get the rhythm, and after that the difficulty ramps in a way that feels fair. New ring patterns show up gradually, so you're never blindsided by a jump in complexity. The art leans into warm oranges and glowing embers, and the little screen shake when you clear a tricky section is genuinely satisfying.
What kept me coming back is the score-chasing loop. There's a soft pull to beat your last run, and the sessions are short enough that 'one more try' doesn't cost you ten minutes. It's not a deep game and it doesn't pretend to be. As a pick-up-put-down arcade filler, it nails exactly what it's going for.
